Howard’s humble beginnings along the Mississippi River in rural southeast Burlington, Iowa, inspired him to write “Fly Me to the Moon” (originally titled In Other Words) in 1954 circling the world, lifting spirits globally.
Frank Sinatra’s 1964 recording was played by the astronauts of Apollo 10 and played ‘on the moon’ by Buzz Aldrin during the Apollo 11 landing.
